Planet PDF On The Move (To A New Server), Minor Disruption To Your PDF Reading Habits Possible

We’re currently in the process of moving the Planet PDF website to a brand new server. This new server will improve site performance and uptime. This process will take approximately 72 hours, so during this time you may notice a few minor issues with the site.

We apologies for any inconvenience caused by this maintenance work, but you’ll be pleased to know that Planet PDF Q&A will not be affected by the move, so you can continue asking your PDF questions and providing expert PDF answers to other users.

Thank you for your understanding.

Introducing Planet PDF Q&A, A Great Place To Ask Your PDF Questions

We recently acquired Planet PDF, the home of the PDF user community, and have begun making some changes to the site. We’re freshening things up a bit with new features, more fresh content and a cleaner interface.

Last week we announced Planet PDF Q&A, the latest addition to the number #1 site for PDF news and resources:

PDF files are ubiquitous. Pay slips, bills, reports, newsletters, brochures, bank statements, calendars, forms, manuals and maps are just a few examples of how we interact with PDF files everyday. Simply put, they are everywhere, whether you like it or not.

And it’s only natural that with frequent use of PDFs you’ll inevitably end up having a few questions about how to perform certain tasks, how to fix annoying problems or even which tools your peers recommend for your PDF-related projects.

That’s why we’re launching a new question and answer site, using an exciting new platform that is optimized explicitly for this purpose. In other words, we are launching a site that is designed to answer all of your PDF related questions.

Check it out for yourself at Planet PDF Q&A.

This is an exciting new addition to Planet PDF and we’re sure that it’s going to become a great resource for PDF experts and beginners alike. Enjoy.

Debenu has acquired ARTS PDF, Planet PDF and PDF Store

I mentioned in an earlier blog post that we had some exciting news on the horizon. Well, this is it:

Debenu has acquired ARTS PDF, Planet PDF and PDF Store from Nitro PDF Software. There is a brief news article at Planet PDF which covers the acquisition.

With this acquisition we’re cementing our position as one of the world’s leading PDF and document manage software providers.

We’ll be making a more formal announcement of the acquisition shortly, but I just wanted to give visitors to our site a heads up and some sort of explanation as to why we’ve now got logos for ARTS PDF, Planet PDF and PDF Store in a few different locations.

Stay tuned for more news soon…

New Debenu Website Launched

Introducing the new Debenu website:

New Design

We’ve been working on this new update for a while now and we’re pretty happy with it. There are a few minor modifications that we’ll be making over the next few weeks, but for the most part, the changes are finished. If you have any feedback on the new design we’d love to hear from you.

Consolidating Sites

With the launch of the new Debenu site we’re also consolidating a few of our other websites into the Debenu website. Specifically Quick PDF Tools and Quick PDF Tools Pro are now housed on the Debenu website instead of having their own unique sites.

In addition we’re discontinuing our PDF Properties Changer product as all of its functionality exists in Quick PDF Tools.

The Future

We have some pretty exciting announcements coming up soon — you may be able to work out what they are by looking at the header image in this blog! — that we’ll be talking about in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

Just a quick note to let all site visitors know that we’ll be upgrading the Debenu site on the 1st of October, 2010. The site will only be down for a short period of time, so disruption should be minimal. We’ll also be making an exciting new announcement on the same date, so stay tuned!
