It is sometimes necessary to scale content on a page so that the content area of the page increases or decreases to make larger or smaller margins or to resize the page so that an A4 sized page becomes an A5 sized page.

Debenu PDF Aerialist — an Adobe Acrobat plug-in — lets you do this via its Imposition feature. Below the steps for resizing a page or scaling content in PDF files are outlined.

Resize pages in PDF files

  1. Go to “Adobe Acrobat > Plug-Ins > Debenu PDF Aerialist > Imposition”.
  2. On the “Layout” tab choose N-up imposition layout type and add the number 1 in both the Columns and Rows field. Leave the defaults for the rest of the settings on the Layout tab.
  3. Click on the “Media” tab. Disable the “Autosize Media” option if it is selected. Choose the new paper size that you want to use. You can use one of the predefined sizes or add your own custom page size. In the scaling section select the “Fit to media size” option.
  4. Click on the “Options” tab and disable the “Crop Marks” and “Inner Marks” options.
  5. Click on the “OK” button resize the page.

Your page(s) will now be resized.

You can use one of the predefined sizes or add your own custom page size. In the scaling section specify the horizontal (H) and vertical (V) scaling that you want to apply to the page. Use the same value for H and V so that the aspect ratio of the content is retained. If you specify something like 70% then the scaled content will be 70% of the original size which will mean that the margins are 30% bigger.
  4. Click on the “Options” tab and disable the “Crop Marks” and “Inner Marks” options.
  5. Click on the “OK” button resize the content.

The content of your page(s) will now be scaled.
