ARTS PDF launches ARTS PDF Stratify – the first and only Acrobat® plug-in for PDF layer creation and control

Melbourne, Australia — November 18, 2004

ARTS PDF, the leading developer of PDF tools for PDF professionals, today announced the release of the first and only tool for creating, inserting, editing and controlling PDF layers in Acrobat®. ARTS PDF Stratify enables technical professionals to prepare easy-to-use layered drawings and diagrams, and enables creative professionals to quickly proof and preview different versions of a design from the one, layered page.

“Layer creation is no longer limited to PDFs that have come from high-end design tools like Adobe® InDesign CS and Adobe® Illustrator CS,” said Maryanne Montes, Product Manager, ARTS PDF. “ARTS PDF Stratify makes it possible to create layers in PDFs created from any application, including Microsoft Word, QuarkXPress, FreeHand, FrameMaker and CAD applications.”

ARTS PDF Stratify gives professionals the tools to select any text or graphics on a page, and then turn them into their own PDF layer in Acrobat® Professional and Standard. It gives technical professionals, such as engineers and architects, the ability to take existing designs and drawings, with each layer of a set of drawings stored as an individual page, and easily convert them into one, layered page.

“Stratify makes dealing with multi-version design so simple — for example, where a design team is working on a series of brochures, with each version needing different information based on a region, differing addresses and pricing information,” said Montes. “Stratify enables these creative teams to group related graphics, text, barcodes, pricing and other information into individual layers, and then send them around for proofing, reviewing and printing.”

Pricing and Availability

ARTS PDF Stratify works with Acrobat® 6.0 and 7.0, runs on Windows and Macintosh platforms, and is available immediately. The product can be purchased now at Debenu Store and from our extensive range of international resellers for US$249.
