ARTS PDF Releases New Tools To Split and Merge PDF Files

Melbourne, Australia — May 29, 2003

A Round Table Solution (ARTS), the popular Adobe® Acrobat® third-party developer, has announced the release of its two new desktop tools for splitting and merging PDF files. ARTS Split & Merge Lite and ARTS Split & Merge Plus. The split functionality lets you split one or more PDF files based on page groups, page ranges, bookmarks and page marks. The merge functionality lets you quickly sort and then combine a collection of PDF documents. The tools helps users easily manage their PDF document collections.

“ARTS Split & Merge 2.0 is a tool Acrobat® users are climbing up and shouting from the rooftops for,” said Vasseenee Maunthrooa, Product Manager, ARTS. “The latest release includes the functionality available in our existing ARTS Split & Merge Wizard and ARTS PDF Splitter products, but comes with extended functionality, an improved interface, and tighter integration with Acrobat®.”

By combining page numbers with simple parameters (commas, dashes, semicolons, odd, and even), users can specify which pages should be merged together to form a new PDF, and which pages should be split separately to form another PDF. Splitting by odd and even pages, and reversing pages are Plus only features. Users can run the Split command with Acrobat’s built-in commands to process large batches of PDFs. Use the bookmark hierarchy and bookmark levels to determine how to split PDF files, with the bookmark text forming the file names of the resulting PDFs.

ARTS Split & Merge Plus comes with a range of enhancements and additional tools for more advanced processing. These include more splitting features and parameters, additional filenaming options and the Update Navigation Elements feature that updates all these links in bookmarks, links and destinations, ensuring all links are maintained between split files.
